Industrial HVAC Controls & Service Technician
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Controls & Service Technician to provide advanced technical support for Nortek HVAC systems. This position is responsible for installation support, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field service across various customer locations locally or remotely. The ideal candidate will possess deep HVAC controls knowledge, strong field service experience, and the ability to independently diagnose complex issues, resolve customer concerns, and collaborate with engineering and cross functional departments. This role plays a vital part in customer satisfaction, product reliability, and technical support excellence.
Position Responsibilities:
• Diagnose, repair, and commission HVAC control systems and equipment.
• Provide remote technical support via phone, email, and remote diagnostics.
• Perform field repairs, system testing, and operational verification at customer sites.
• Analyze control programs, wiring diagrams, schematics, and system integration documents.
• Coordinate root cause analysis and advanced technical investigations with engineering and product support teams.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, contractors, and building operators.
• Provide troubleshooting guidance and system operational support to service partners.
• Conduct technical site visits, system reviews, and customer response meetings.
• Deliver professional customer interaction to ensure high satisfaction and successful service outcomes.
• Review technical documentation related to commissioning, upgrades, and product modifications.
• Maintain accurate service records, troubleshooting reports, training documentation, and customer interaction notes.
• Support product development and continuous improvement through field feedback and issue reporting.
• Assist in development of installation guides, troubleshooting procedures, or best practice documents when required.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, R&D, engineering, and customer service teams to address system issues.
• Participate in training sessions and knowledge sharing with other Nortek facilities.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance field reliability, service quality, and customer experience.
Position Requirements:
• 3-5+ years of hands-on experience with HVAC systems, controls, or similar technical service roles.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Familiarity with DDC/PLC control systems (preferred).
• Ability to independently manage field service travel, scheduling, and priorities.
• Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, control logic, schematics, and system layouts.
• Ability to travel for field service assignments and training as needed.
