Overview
Our client has immediate openings for experienced Commercial HVAC Crew Leaders (Foremen) to support large-scale commercial HVAC replacement projects. This role is not an installer-only position. We are seeking hands-on field leaders with deep experience in commercial rooftop HVAC unit (RTU) replacements, crew oversight, crane coordination, and jobsite safety.
This is a high-travel role supporting projects primarily in the Southeastern United States, with extended time on the road followed by scheduled time off.

  • Schedule:
    • 60-70 hour workweeks
    • 3-4 weeks on the road, followed by 1 week off
  • Work Location: On the road (national travel; projects concentrated in the Southeast)
  • Must Have: Commercial Rooftop HVAC (RTU) experience

What You Will Be Doing
As a Commercial HVAC Crew Leader, you will lead and oversee full RTU replacement projects from a field execution standpoint.
Core Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a field crew of 4-6 technicians on commercial HVAC replacement projects.
  • Oversee entire jobsite operations, including safety, compliance, and productivity.
  • Coordinate and execute RTU removal and installation, including:
    • Electrical disconnects and reconnections
    • Controls, EMS, and life safety wiring
    • Gas piping and connections
    • Condensate drain connections
    • Adapter curb installation
    • Crane picks and unit setting
  • Read and interpret blueprints and site drawings to ensure proper execution.
  • Enforce OSHA construction safety standards across the jobsite.
  • Manage crew scheduling, timekeeping, and reporting.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and office teams.
  • Use mobile devices to receive, document, and transfer job-related information.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).


Required Experience & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience installing commercial HVAC equipment in commercial buildings.
  • Strong experience with commercial RTU replacements (required).
  • Proven crew leadership and project oversight experience.
  • Solid understanding of construction workflow and jobsite safety.
  • Working knowledge of sheet metal and duct installation (supporting skill, not primary focus).
  • Ability to work significant overtime.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 100%.
Certifications & Licensing
  • Must have or be able to obtain our client's certification for:
    • Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP)
    • Telehandler Forklift
    • Crane Rigger / Signal Person
    • OSHA-10
  • Ability to obtain state-required licenses (including Journeyman licensing where applicable).
  • Valid Driver's License (required).


Education & Pre-Employment Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • National background check.
  • Pre-employment drug screening.
  • Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.


Compensation & Benefits
Compensation
  • Hourly, non-exempt role.
  • Pay Range: $32-$37/hour.
  • Eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 per week (or as required by state law).
  • Extensive overtime opportunities (teams typically average 1,000+ OT hours annually).
