Description:

Project Manager

An employee is looking for a highly skilled Project Manager to join one of our largest national healthcare clients for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is a 6-month contract with eligibility for conversion based on budget availability and performance. In this role, you'll join a growing team and work to support The State of Hawaii. This team's current project manager is moving on to a new opportunity and thus they're looking to backfill their role. They've identified a temporary resource to head up this project from Jan 1, 2026, through the end of February 2026 and they're looking for someone who could start by the end of January to hopefully be trained by this temporary resource in order to hit the ground running.

In order to be successful on this team, you must have 5 years of prior experience working as a project manager and ideally have experience supporting various government projects. This is a contract opportunity with eligibility for conversion based on performance and budget availability.

Responsibilities:

  • Defining work strategies, aligning these with resources and desired client outcomes, and overseeing planning and execution of the large-scale implementation.
  • Anticipating issues and acting proactively to address potential issues.
  • Gathering and updating deliverables, project materials, project documentation, business flows, and lessons learned documents.
  • Speaking about details of the project to both the business and technical teams, including clients.
  • Managing cross-functional interdependencies.
  • Improving processes to optimize performance and value over time.
  • Providing proactive risk management and issue/problem resolution as required.
  • Ensuring technology solutions are managed to support business strategies, often working with senior management.
  • Directing the integration of technical aspects of all related projects/programs.
  • Conducting analyses, needs assessments, and cost/benefit assessments.
  • Monitoring financials to ensure budget compliance.
  • Representing project status to client and Optum leadership.
  • Addressing project challenges with key client personnel and within Optum.
