Overview:

Sales Engineer (EMEA) – Mainframe Systems

You will help customers understand and use our mainframe solutions effectively. We are looking for someone with deep knowledge of z/OS, including hardware, startup, system configuration, and performance tuning. You will analyze system logs and SMF data to diagnose issues and optimize performance. You should have experience with SMP/E, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and system commands. We work closely with clients to solve technical challenges and improve their systems. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics clearly.

What you will do:

  • Deliver customer presentations – 20%
  • Be responsible for executing proofs-of-concepts – 20%
  • Create and deliver product demonstrations – 30%
  • Participate in product beta testing – 5%
  • Provide customer feedback to product management – 5%
  • Collaborate and strategize with the sales team – 10%
  • Collaborate with marketing to fine tune and improve message – 5%
  • Other duties may be assigned

What we are looking for:

  • BS in IT (Equivalent work experience will be accepted in place of the education requirement)
  • 3+ years' experience as a Sales Engineer
  • Deep knowledge of z/OS hardware components
  • Experience with z/OS system startup and memory management
  • Familiarity with SMP/E, JCL, TSO/ISPF
  • Experience analyzing system logs and SMF data for performance tuning
  • Experience with Splunk or ServiceNow or Elastic is a plus
  • Travel is required: Yes – Approximately 5%
