As a product manager within Optum CDS, you will oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to distribution. Specifically, within Platform Services, this role involves ensuring the product aligns with market demands and customer needs, while working with various stakeholders to develop product vision and strategy. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the platform that supports the clinical decision support tools, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and integrates seamlessly with other systems. This involves working closely with engineering, marketing, and clinical teams to define requirements, prioritize features, and manage the development process.

Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain a detailed understanding of both the healthcare industry and software development industry and be comfortable working at the intersection of both
Actively participate in relevant healthcare standards bodies
Work alongside product management and architecture to define product roadmaps and shape customer experiences
Integrate into the development team and participate in agile ceremonies including daily standup, sprint planning, and feature/story refinement
Own the backlog and maintain a list of user stories for the team to work on in priority order
Use industry research to identify emerging trends and market opportunities
Develop products with a mindset for a platform approach
Understand the needs of software development teams and develop a platform to address them
Design, develop, and manage activities for a specific product or group of products, from product definition and planning through production, release, and end-of-life
Responsible for management of the full product lifecycle with a technical focus, including the strategy, design, development, management, and end-of-life of new, existing, or acquired products
Leverage market insights and emerging technology developments and trends to understand market/customer needs, as well as identify new opportunities or adjust current product offerings
Accountable for delivering product performance in alignment with expectations, and updates changes to a product portfolio to improve competitive position and produce optimal product performance to meet customer and market needs
Accountable to and/or owns the P&L, and is responsible for cross-functional stakeholder management, including design, engineering, scrum teams, business leaders, etc, functioning as a technical expert with a fluency in development concepts and modern development practices
Manage day-to-day product requirements in Rally, Miro and other related tools
Lead/facilitate daily scrum, retrospective, backlog refinement meetings
Manage resource allocations per project and team velocity
Participate in PI Planning Sessions

Required Qualifications:
3+ years of product management experience
3+ years of experience in healthcare and/or working with or developing SaaS based solutions
3+ years of experience in developing and communicating project plans and/or roadmaps to achieve the Product Strategy
2+ years of experience working with multiple teams/stakeholders to gather and document detailed business and technical requirements
2+ years of experience drafting customer communications and creating customer presentations
Familiar with software development lifecycle and modern software development practices
Proven to be effectively establish and build partnerships with external vendors and customers
Proven ability to balance competing priorities and create clear goals and direction for development teams
Proven ability to influence internal customers and business leaders
Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications:
Azure Public Cloud experience
Background as a software developer or architect
Understanding of FHIR, SMART, CDS Hooks, CQL, and other healthcare industry standards
Outstanding personal skills: communication (both verbal and non-verbal), coaching, and team building

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
